Meet our Portland Dog Trainers

Dallas Hanson– Head Trainer

Dallas is a passionate dog trainer who wants to help dog owners create a more peaceful home environment. He grew up around dogs, from floppy-eared hound dogs to pumpkin-faced pit bulls, and he always seems to have more dogs around him than people. This young man won’t shy away from any breed or any challenge. Dallas was born and raised in Tennessee and enjoys hiking, camping, and traveling. His current pack of pups includes Ross, a Rottweiler mix, and Juice Box , a golden doodle.

Dallas studied veterinary technician skills at Penn Foster College and worked as a veterinary technician for four years. He then grew into the office manager position for three small animal hospitals. Through that time he found dogs with a various of issues and helpless owners who were begging for a change. This ambitious student decided he wanted to learn more about canine behavior in addition to canine medicine, so he decided to seek certification through Canine Trade Group.

Dallas wants to be able to help owners and their pets live in harmony. Before finding CTG, Dallas came across many training myths and non-productive styles. He found that CTG offered results-based methods, and he now feels confident in his ability to help owners create a more peaceful lifestyle.

No problem is too difficult for Dallas. He’ll be there for you and your dog until your training goals are achieved.

Shade Banter– Professional Dog Trainer

Shade has been obsessed with animals for as long as he can remember, both him and his mom were always rescuing injured animals and nursing them back to health when he was growing up, and he’s dogs ever since he was born. When he was 6, his mom took him to the shelter and he finally got a dog of his very own, he picked a Rough Coat Collie and named her Lassie, after his favorite movie at the time. He was his absolute best friend and he has cared for and trained several different breeds since, personally and professionally, including 2 of his own service dogs. He currently has an American Bully named Boogie and a very elderly Chihuahua he found on the street named Burbuja.

Shade has over 10 years of professional experience working with dogs, including nutrition and grooming, so rest assured that you and your furry friend will be in loving and experienced hands. Shade sought out a job with Rose City Dog Training to further his knowledge of dogs and dog training because he wants to help dogs be as happy and comfortable as they can possibly be living in our world while also fostering unbreakable bonds with their human companions. Utilizing what he has learned through Rose City Dog training to do more training with his own dog has really shown him that this proven protocol works better than any other method he has ever tried and that makes Shade is so excited to share his knowledge and confident in his ability to meet your training goals.

In Shade’s free time, he enjoys cooking, film, and exploring the great outdoors with Boogie.
